Not sure what auto insurance is best for you?
Here’s a quick glance at the car insurance types for you to choose from.
Type 1 car insurance
Covers you and your car, any damage to third party property, bodily injury as well as loss due to fire and/or theft, and natural disasters including floods.
Type 1 car insurance is good for;Motorists looking for the maximum level of cover available. Type 1 is a great choice if you’ve got a new car or a high value car that is up to or around 7 years-old (up to 12 years-old for some insurers). It gives complete peace of mind. Type 2+ car insurance
Offers similar protection to Type 1 but there is a limit to the sum covered if you damage your own vehicle. It also excludes any damage to your own car that is your fault. For instance, driving into a wall.
Type 2+ car insurance is good for;Motorists who still want peace of mind but want to pay a little less than Type 1 car insurance and own an older car. Check car insurance price for Type 2+ below
Type 3+ car insurance
Covers third-party liability for damage to another person’s vehicle or another person up to the insured sum. Also offers limited coverage for your own car due to collisions only.
Type 3+ car insurance is good for;Motorists on a budget or those who own an older or a low-value vehicle. Type 3+ provides less coverage based on a lower insured sum. This means a lower premium. Also, a good option for those who don’t use their car very often. Check car insurance price for Type 3+ below
Type 3 car insurance
This policy covers third party property damage and third-party injury. It does not cover your vehicle.
Type 3 car insurance is good for;Older vehicles. It is the lowest level of voluntary cover available and is the cheapest insurance we offer. We recommend Type 3 to those on a very tight budget who want a little more coverage than the legal requirement of Compulsory Motor Insurance. Check car insurance price for Type 1 below
Compulsory Motor Insurance (CMI)
This insurance is the minimum cover required by law. Covers third party liability to other drivers and their passengers. It covers medical expenses or loss of life following a car accident. Sums insured are limited.
